Hotel Sacher Salzburg was built between 1863 and 1866 by Carl Freiherr von Schwarz and initially operated as the ‘Hôtel d’Autriche,’ later renamed ‘Österreichischer Hof.’ Since then, it has become one of the country’s most prestigious luxury hotels and is part of Salzburg’s UNESCO World Heritage historic city center.

In 1988, Peter Gürtler, owner of Hotel Sacher Vienna, acquired the property. After his death in 1990, his wife Elisabeth Gürtler took over management and in 2000 transformed the property into Hotel Sacher Salzburg.

Our policies are intentionally designed to be flexible and transparent:

  • In general, cancellations are free of charge until 12:00 noon on the day of arrival.
  • For special occasions such as New Year’s Eve or during the Salzburg Festival, as well as for non-refundable offers, different conditions apply. These are clearly stated during the booking process.

A deposit is only required during special periods with different cancellation policies. In all other cases, no advance payment is necessary. This information is clearly outlined during the booking process.
