Experience the typical Viennese coffee house atmosphere at Café Sacher Wien and treat yourself to an Original Sacher-Torte and an Original Sacher Café. The Café Sacher at the Hotel Sacher is a glamorous meeting point for tourists and lovers of Austrian pastries alike. The Café Sacher is also home to the world’s most famous chocolate cake, the Original Sacher-Torte.
The cake’s success has spread the reputation of the Café Sacher far beyond the borders of Austria. Even today, the recipe of the exquisite chocolate cake with its thin layer of apricot jam, dating back from 1832, is a well-kept secret. All cakes are produced in the Sacher’s in-house bakery. You can purchase or dispatch the Original Sacher-Torte and Sacher Merchandising Products at the Confiserie as well as in the Sacher Online-Shop.
Apart from the Original Sacher-Torte, the Café Sacher also offers a large variety of Austrian pastries and other typically Austrian dishes. The conservatory, facing the Opera, is also very much enjoyed by our guests. In the summer, the conservatory is transformed into an open terrace.
