Original Sacher-Torte

In 1832, Franz Sacher created the Original Sacher-Torte. To this day, it is handcrafted in 34 individual steps and is regarded as one of Vienna’s most iconic culinary specialties. For many years, we have carried this tradition beyond Austria’s borders. Through selected international pop-ups, we bring a piece of Viennese coffee house culture to special locations across Europe. Whether in renowned, family-run hotels or historically significant destinations, each collaboration is carefully chosen. It reflects a shared commitment to genuine hospitality and timeless elegance. Alongside our online shop, these temporary locations offer the opportunity to enjoy the Original Sacher-Torte internationally, directly on site.

1 October to 30 November 2026

Beau-Rivage Genève, Switzerland

In October and November 2026, Sacher brings a taste of Viennese coffeehouse culture to the shores of Lake Geneva. At the historic Beau-Rivage Genève, guests can enjoy the Original Sacher-Torte alongside Austrian classics such as Apfelstrudel and Topfenstrudel, selected coffee specialities and a specially created Viennese Afternoon Tea. The two family-run establishments share a long tradition and even a piece of history. Empress Sisi was a guest at Beau-Rivage Genève and also appreciated the Original Sacher-Torte. Those wishing to take a piece of Sacher home will also find the Original Sacher-Torte in its characteristic wooden box available on site. This pop-up brings together almost two centuries of Viennese culinary tradition and more than 160 years of Geneva hospitality.
