SACHER ARTISTS’ COLLECTION 2021 by Anna Netrebko

The famous wooden box of the Sacher Artists’ Collection 2021 is decorated with a motif by the Russian-Austrian soprano and chamber singer Anna Netrebko. For the motif, she was inspired by the delicious ingredients of the original Sacher Torte, the finest chocolate and fruity apricot jam. The artist has redefined the concept of opera star and sings at the world’s most important opera houses, including the Vienna State Opera, the Metropolitan Opera in New York and La Scala in Milan. For the Sacher Artists’ Collection 2021, she is also officially and publicly displaying her visual talent for the first time.

All the proceeds from the Sacher Artists' Collection 2021 will benefit DEBRA Austria in 2021, which helps people living with the rare and momentous skin disease epidermolysis bullosa. Because their skin is as vulnerable as a butterfly's wings, sufferers have become known as "butterfly children".The proceeds will be used to set up the "Sacher Mobility Fund" and implement projects to promote and maintain the mobility of "butterfly children" on a long-term and sustainable basis. This support enables, for example, the purchase of aids such as special wheelchairs or therapy bicycles, occupational therapy support, personal assistance or measures to design barrier-free living spaces. In this way, the young patients can continue to master their lives heroically as "butterfly children".

About Sacher Artists' Collection

Amazing art and Austria’s most famous cake, united for a good cause? That was Elisabeth Gürtler’s vision in 2009 when she launched the Sacher Artists’ Collection, and the idea was a recipe for success from the start. Every year since, a renowned artist has transformed the iconic wooden box in which the Original Sacher-Torte is packaged into a unique work of art. All proceeds from this limited edition are donated to specially selected charity projects.
