A Genius as both Painter and Draughtsman

The first Van Gogh show for more than 50 years in Austria looks at the world-famous painter - his paintings rank among the most expensive art works of the world - from his perspective as draughtsman. The 150 works assembled highlight the impact of the (in the lifetime very poor) artist's expressive drawings and watercolors on the radically different evolution of his brushwork.

Tracing the Unconventional Habsburg

On the occasion of the 150^th birthday of Crown Prince Rudolf, the son of Emperor Franz Joseph and Empress Elisabeth, the Imperial Furniture Collection / Furniture Museum Vienna shows an exhibition focusing on the unconventional Habsburg. The often non-conformist, unconventional successor to the throne, on whom the Habsburg Empire's hopes were pinned, leaves many questions unanswered up to this day, last but not least because of his mysterious death/suicide.
