  • Salzburg Easter Festival

    12. – 21. April 2014

    The Festival begins each year on the Saturday before Palm Sunday with an opera premiere and ends on Easter Monday, when the opera is traditionally performed a second time.   • Salzburg Whitsun Festival 2014

    05. – 09. June

    In 2014 the Whitsun Festival in Salzburg will focus on Gioachino Rossini, again with Cecilia Bartoli as the artistic director. The highlights of the "Rossinian fireworks" will be two scenic operas, opening with the fairy-tale opera La Cenerentola starring Cecilia Bartoli, and ending with Otello, a premiere at the Whitsun Festival and probably Rossini's most significant tragic opera.
