Excellent taste meets great art, and culinary delight inspires a unique design.

Gustav Peichl: the internationally renowned architect has designed many major projects in Austria and Germany
Gustav Peichl’s well-known buildings include the regional studios of Austrian public broadcaster ORF, the Art and Exhibition Hall of the Federal Republic of Germany in Bonn, the Kammerspiele theatre in Munich, and the Museum of Caricature in Krems, Lower Austria. As a caricaturist, “Ironimus” has been working for the quality papers “Die Presse” (Austria) and “Süddeutsche Zeitung” (Germany) for 50 years. His New Year’s Eve programme of cartoons on Austrian TV also enjoyed great popularity. The holder of numerous awards, Gustav Peichl taught at the Academy of Fine Arts Vienna where he also served as rector (vice-chancellor); he has also held visiting professorships at institutions such as Harvard University in Boston, among others.
Grand Austrian State Prize, Mies van der Rohe Award; participation in the Kassel documenta, the Milan Triennale, and the Venice Biennale. Member of the Austrian Art Senate, honorary member of several international schools of architecture.
Peichl’s caricatures are distinguished by their subtle criticism of politics, art and society.
Neurological outcome in children after extracorporeal membrane oxygenation (ECMO)
Children suffering from life-threatening heart and lung diseases depend on a special type of heart-lung machine (ECMO) while in intensive care. These children have a high risk of long-term neurological effects as a result of lack of oxygen and impaired blood circulation in the brain occurring prior to and at the beginning of this form of treatment. In this study, extensive internal and developmental neurological examinations, including an EEG and psychological tests, are carried out to assess the children’s psychosocial satisfaction and their condition in relation to their age and development status. These post-operative examinations help to explore future measures for preventing neurological damage in ECMO patients.
